Cross over Wagholi in 5 minutes!

Presently, travellers on their way to Nagar have to waste 1 and a half hour to cross Wagholi. But the scenario is about to change in near future.

Getting stranded in the heavy traffic, wasting one and a half hour just crossing over Wagholi. This was the fate of the commuters on their way to work and all Nagar-bound travellers. The good news is that PMRDA has devised a few remedial plans to rescue the commuters.

Finally, a relief after 6 months

  • PMRDA considers road widening from both sides as the first alternative. All the necessary steps would be taken soon in this regard. This work would start by September 2018.
  • An external diversion from Bharatiya Jain Sangha Mahavidyalay to Bhairavnath temple has been proposed too.
  • A grade separator would ensure that there won’t be any obstruction in the traffic. The 1.5 km grade separator would smoothen the traffic through Avhalwadi, Kesanand and Wagholi. Presently, the travel time to and fro these destinations is 1 and a half hour. This would be cut to mere 5 minutes!
  • Wagholi has been developing quite rapidly. However, heavy and unruly traffic had been a perpetual problem.

Suggested Solutions

These solutions are a result of a survey undertaken by L & T

  • A 6 pronged road in place of 4 pronged road
  • Creating a grade separator
  • Developing an external diversion

Come September, and the traffic woes paralysing Wagholi would start waning!

The proposed grade separator is would enable the commuters to cross over the Wagholi corridor just within 5 minutes. This is certainly going to be a welcome news for the stranded, Nagarbound commuter.
